Child sponsorship

Aswam Youth Foundation knows well about the increasing the number of orphans and increased poverty levels which has impacted child learning negatively by contributing towards school dropouts. school dropouts have been partially brought about by poverty, unemployment and death of loved attributed to diseases such as HIV/AIDs which has claimed the lives of their parents and ended up orphans with no one help.

Aswam Youth Foundation has been able to help 74 children to restore their right to education through sponsorship as result of their talents. The organization has registered over 340 children in need of help in terms school fees and scholastic materials but due to our limited finances, we have been unable to deliver to the promise but we are making our hands dirty in good way by soliciting and looking for potential donors who can scale up our budget so that we can cater for this ever-increasing number of children

Talent development & Nurturing

Aswam Youth Foundation believes in God given talents as special gifts given to each individual, however many have not worked hard to discover the talents within and therefore, this potential has laid dormant within such individual and yet if it was identified and developed would have made a difference in humanity.

Aswam Youth Foundation is cognizant with the fact that talents can be used as tools for survival and this has driven us upgrade our talent such in sports, Music, dance and Drama.

Aswam Youth Foundation doesn’t only develop and nurture talents of its youth and children but teaches them to use these talents as vehicles to earn a living and most importantly to use them to improve the people around them and their respective communities.

Sports

Our sports program is characterized with three important virtues that has to say passion for the sport, compassion for other people around and respect for humanity. These virtues are helped us to mold our young people into talented and professional prayer who are driven by the desire to make the world a better place. They have made it their duty to improve everyday knowing that this improvement in the long run will help not only themselves but people around them most especially the unfortunate.

Our sports program attracts, rescues, and nurtures children and youths and in the long-run encourages self-control and promotes cooperation, giving the youths and children a platform to regain their hope for a better future. Youths and children are grouped according to their preferences such as Floor ball, Netball, Soccer, Volleyball and Badminton. As earlier mentioned, 74 youths have been awarded scholarships due to their exceptional talent by different school to continue with their education. This program has accommodated 189 youth including children though our target lies at 600 within the coming two years. However, to realize this goal considerable funding is needed to drive this program successfully.

Music, Dance and Drama

Aswam Youth Foundation has engaged young people equally in Music, Dance and Drama just like sports and through this we have been able to see many children turn around their lives from abusing drugs to being responsible youths and children with a hope for the better future.  However, Aswam Youth Foundation is unable to deliver to the promise due to lack of enough instruments for music, dancing costumes, and other necessary equipment for drama that have hindered the progress in implementing this activity to the fullest.

Computer Training Program

We offer mobile computer literacy training to young people in rural schools, Institutions and communities. We aim at extending opportunities and services to disadvantaged young people who have no access to computers and practical training.

We have very few laptops that we carry to schools, institutions or communities on an agreed day and time of training. We need more computers, regardless of the condition they are in, we shall repair them. We seek for your support to help us put up an Information and Technology center for the community. This will require space (room), chairs, tables and solar power since most parts of the area don’t have Electricity

Community Public Library

We have set up a mobile community public library aiming at reducing illiteracy levels among the children and youth in rural communities with a long-term plan of putting up a non-mobile public library.  They are empowered to participate in the library activities that provide free reading services, writing, research, and studying. What we have is not enough, we need more books, bookshelves, chairs, tables, photocopying, scanning and printing machine and request for your support to enable us to put up a reading center.
